For this year’s show the organisers will once again be using the large single span event centre building in addition to the biggest marquee structure built in Ireland. The new solid sided 120 metre long marquee is the biggest ever built in Ireland. It will be heated for the duration of the show using Irish farmer produced bio-diesel, to provide visitors and stand holders with the best possible conditions in which to discuss their needs in a business-like environment.
A total of 10,000 square metres of floor space will be used to house all exhibits. This will be made up of one 4,800 square metres solid sided and heated marquee along with the main event centre will cover 5,200 square metres in a single span structure.
Visitor comfort is a top priority and a series of covered walkways are provided to contend with any potential weather problems. Once again the 2009 show will feature a limited outdoor display area, designed to accommodate those larger machines that can so easily dominate an indoor stand.
Farm machinery companies exhibiting at this year’s show will have a host of new machines on display, many on view for the first time in the country. There will be a large number of new tractor introductions with new models from Case, Claas, Deutz-Fahr, John Deere, Fendt, Hurlimann, JCB, Kioti, Kubota, Lamborghini, Landini, McCormick, Massey Ferguson, New Holland, Same, Ursus & Valtra. As all major tractor manufactures will be present. You won’t get a better opportunity to view such a comprehensive display of tractors – all under one roof.
On the farm machinery front there will be new machine introductions from a host of manufacturers across all aspects of mechanised farming. All categories of machines are on display. For example, you’ll find no fewer than 19 different brands of mechanical and pneumatic seeders, 10 different brands of balers and 11 different brands of ploughs. From sprayers to hedge cutters, forage harvesters to potato equipment, there’s machinery for everyone.
Silage and grass machines always play a big part in the farmers or contractors machinery needs. The 2009 Farm Machinery Show will have a huge range of silage and grass machinery from the smaller mowers to the latest in giant self-propelled machines. Interest in forage wagons is stronger than ever. Compare like for like and chat with the experts. The farm machinery provides the perfect surroundings in which to examine machines for comparative purposes.
Almost every company showing at the event will have something new to offer. This will range from tools to the largest combine harvesters. And the show will be supported by a number of farming financial institutions.
As the face of agriculture is changing so too are our machinery needs. Computers and technology are becoming ever so important in the farm, contracting or machinery business. Four specialised agricultural accounts and management software developments companies, ASC software, Farmade Management systems, Patchwork Technology and Ibcos Computers will be present.
“More than at other shows in the past, this year almost every company exhibiting at this year’s Show will have something new to offer. The highlights will be the new tractor models, some seen for the first time publicly in Ireland”, said Show Committee chairman, Simon Cross. “The show is also being supported by a number of farming and educational organisations such as the IFA and IT Tralee and a number of major financial institutions”, he added.
The Farm Machinery Show at Punchestown is organised by the Farm Tractor and Machinery Trade Association for farmers and contractors. It offers manufacturers, Irish and international, the opportunity to show a whole range of new and well tested farm machines, products and services in modern business-like surroundings.
The Show has full catering facilities on site. Car parking is free and the admission charge has been retained at €15 per person.
